About
Hi all! My name is Ashley, and I am a 23 year old living Baltimore and making the most of this amazing city. I have been active my whole life, and have grown up playing sports. In high school I played field hockey and lacrosse, and then went on to play field hockey in college. I had the greatest experience in college, and made some of my very bset friends there.
The thing about playing a sport in college, is that your life is so structured. I didn’t have to worry about gaining the freshman 15, because I was practicing at least 2 hours a day during season, and in off season we would have practices and lifting scheduled into our routines too. I actually ended up losing a few pounds throughout school, even though my eating habits were awful. I felt as though, since I was so active, there was no reason for me to eat well.
I’ve graduated, and realized that now is the time to figure out how to fuel my body the right way. I am on a journey now to balance work, play, and being active. In 2009 I completed my goal of running a 10k. My goal for 2010 is to run a half marathon. I have just recently signed up for the DC Cherry Blossom 10 mile race with some of my best friends. I’ll be documenting my training for the race, my yoga practice, my friends and family, and my food. Sit back and enjoy the ride!
Hey – thanks for the comment and welcome to the blog world! That is great you are going to be training for the Clydes 10k! I like your approach to food – mine is the same – love it, but no silly diets. Want to eat the right things, splurge every now and then exercise!
Thanks for the warm welcome!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I like your story and your anti-dieting approach 🙂 Good luck w/ everything!
Welcome! I just started blogging in September and I just love it. I hope you enjoy it, too!
Hey! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I went through the EXACT same thing as you only it was in high school. I played ice hockey competitively for six years so I could eat whatever I want and still be in good shape. When I went to college I quit going to hockey (and started drinking) and that’s when the weight piled on!!
Great blog! I’ll definitely stop by more often 🙂
I am the same way-I felt like I got to know the bloggers by simply reading their posts! I’m glad we’re close in age (and foodie philosophies:) I hope to get to know you!
Kate

Thank you so much for accepting my Friendship request at Foodbuuz!
We share a love for sport! This old geezer still plays cricket and watches a lot of rugby, soccer!
There is not much Lacrosse (French word!) in Japan unfortunately!
Although I’m an omnivore, I eat more veg than the average and write about them whenever I can!
Take good care of yourself (ves: BF and doggie!)
Cheers,

I was a field hockey and lacrosse player too! I miss it soooo much. I’ve always had problems with me eating and consistently exercising. No I decided to become a certified aerobics instructor to hold me accountable to working out. I also started a tea cuisine blog to hold me accountable to tea right and creating balance. I am glad you enjoyed your Tea Spot teas!!!

hey Ashley:) just wanted to share my healthy muffins recipe http://letsgetstupid.wordpress.com/2009/04/18/multiple-muffin-orgasm/ have a good weekend! x
Hey! Your story sounds a lot like mine. Due to being an athlete my whole life (basketball for 12 years, among other sports) and working a really active job throughout college I sort of tried to eat healthy but never really had to worry about it. Enter adult life and a desk job and all that changed. I am still at a healthy weight but I am working hard to live a balanced lifestyle and stick with a good routine (for fitness and food).
Good luck to you! I also started a blog to track my accountability if you ever want to check it out :o)
