Quiet Lunch

Oh yesterday was a long day. I went into work at 7 and was our by 9 pm. The morning started out rough when I got a flat tire on my way to work on a rainy morning. There was no going home during my lunch break so I decided to take a much needed quiet lunch to relax and rejuvenate. Of course I went to the one place I knew would be the perfect spot. Teavolve .

Honestly I go there often and enjoy it every single time but I always order the same thing. The grilled veggie panini is my favorite, but I really had nothing to compare it to since thats the only thing I ever get. I decided today to switch it up. I started lunch off with a pot of Vanilla Rooibos tea. Rooibos quickly became my favorite tea the first day I tried it. Never needs sweetener, it’s perfect by itself. Your tea comes atop a tealight candle to keep it warm.

For my meal I decided to go with the beet and goat cheese salad. After having beets in my salad this past weekend at Fitbloggin I knew I wanted to try this one. It was a simple mixed greens salad topped with fresh goat cheese, sliced beets, and walnuts. It came with a balsamic vinaigrette to round it off. This can easily be made at home so i’m excited to get the ingredients to make my own quick gourmet salad.

I decided to finish my last cup of tea off with a mini apricot and white chocolate scone. You’ve seen these before, and I’ve eaten these quite a few times but i’ve never bought one when I sat down, only take out. OH MY the difference. They heat them up and it comes 100 times better than when I get one to go. This was epic.

It was a rainy day out and I completely enjoyed this hour to myself. Calm and quiet, I needed this badly. I know some people don’t like eating at restaurants by themselves. I actually find it relaxing sometimes and don’t mind it one bit. I’ve never gone to a movie at a theater by myself though, but I kind of want to do it.

How do you feel about doing things on your own?

I went to the movies by myself for the first time a few weeks ago. I loved it! Granted, it was the middle of the day on a Wednesday, so it wasn’t very crowded – might be a little more weird on a Fri. or Sat. night. Definitely something I’ll be doing again. (I also like going to restaurants alone. It allows me to really focus on the food and just relax.)

I love to do things by myself. I like the alone time to think. Be silent and loney aren’t bad things in my opinion!! πŸ™‚

    I loooove beets on salads!

Isn’t that strange? I feel totally fine eating at a restaurant by myself, but for some reason going to the movies alone is a n0-go for me. Nobody sees you in the movies anyway! I don’t know what my problem is…

I love doing things by myself, especially when I’m tired. I’ll go to a restaurant, sit in a corner, read a book and eat. It’s perfect. I’m surrounded by people, but relaxing and my tastebuds sing.

Sounds like the perfect “me” time! πŸ™‚

Sometimes I’ll take lunch by myself in a neighboring office building’s cafeteria- just to destress and get alone time at work. It’s nice- but usually I need a good book or something to read. Otherwise, I would feel a bit awkward…

Doing things on my own is very natural to me. I actually have to make more of an effort sometimes to make sure I’m not alone too much! I recently saw a movie alone for the first time, and it was soooo relaxing! And I was better able to pay attention because I think I’m usually distracted with a friend sitting next to me πŸ™‚

I’m so sorry about your tire! And on a rainy day too, yuck. I’m glad you know what makes you feel better and had a chance to take some you-time.

I’m one of the people that feels uncomfortable going to a restaurant by myself. Not sure why though!

I am working on being more comfortable doing things on my own! I have actually been to the movies once alone and it felt great–so liberating!

Going to the movies alone has been on my list of 101 in 1001 things for awhile (and I have yet to do it).

I had a friend that would go to the movies alone all the time and she swears it isn’t a big deal. I’m not sure what is holding me back!

That salad looks wonderful! (even though i’m not a beet fan!) I don’t drink tea but WANT that tea pot – it makes me happy and it’s so clever with its sterno!

I’m okay with shopping alone and eating alone (when I moved to Atlanta to intern I spent many a lunches eating alone!). However, i’ve never gone to a movie alone or like bowled alone!

mmm, that lunch looks divine! I’ll have to check Teavolve out soon! I love spending alone time, and I also love spending time with friends. I think the key for me is to have a nice balance. Too much alone time makes me feel crazy, too much together time (or whatever, haha) makes me crave alone time hehe. I’ve never eaten at a restaurant or gone to a movie alone, but maybe I should try!

I’m at the movies right now by myself! Just catching up on your blog, waiting for Remember Me to come on. It’s probably one of my favorite thongs to do. Go to the movies alone that is- though reading your blog is up there too! Love ya girl, hope your day got better!
