Good morning all π ah the weekend always does go by much too fast doesn’t it? My time was spent with friends and family and I savored every moment.
Friday night was Julie and Julia night with my mom. We headed to Trader Joes and picked up some movie snacks. Cinnamon and Sugar pita chips and dried mango were our munchies of choice. I just loved the movie. It was so cute. It made me absolutely fall in love with Meryl StreepΒ as Julia Child. Julia had such a great sense of humor and such a sweet soul. I loved her relationship with her husband and hope that I can be like that in the future. It made me want to read more about her and to DEFINITELY get my hands on her book My Life in France. She had an amazing life and it was such a pleasure getting to watch her journey. Amy Adams was cute in the movie too and shows the trials and tribulations of blogging, all which we know too well π It shows her getting her first comment and getting over the top excited, which I must say I was the same exact way. I know that all my readers will love the movie, I definitely recommend it! The audience in my movie theater must have been 100% foodies. They were cracking up and there was a round of applause at the end.
Saturday morning my roomie Lauren and I woke up early to get to Britt’s house on the Eastern Shore of MD. I made us oatmeal and we split a green smoothie and was good to go. We got to Britt’s and went for a nice morning run. The rest of the day was spent out on the boat. It was so relaxing and I absolutely passed out.
attractive, no?

After being sun babies we got ready for our Baltimore restaurant week dinner. We went to Mezze which is a mediterranean tapas place that I have been dying to go to since I moved to Baltimore. They brought out SO much food and every last bite was beyond perfection. We got a TON of food to share.
To start we got a basket of fresh pita bread and hummus, tzatziki, and fattoush which was tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet onions, mized in a pomegranate reduction. We also ordered a glass of sangria each. Britt got the white, and I got the mixed.
Next up was grape leaves, spinach pie, stuffed peppers, and meat pie.
Then came the Zucchini Fritters, which were so so so good. It was shredded zucchini folder with a mixture of onions, fresh herbs, and feta. It’s beyond any fritter i’ve ever had. Then fried calamari, chicken kabob, and a crab cake.
Just when we thought we couldn’t have a single bite more, the dessert came out. Baklava and baked custard.
We hated it.
I practically had to be carted out of there… definitely one of the absolute BEST restaurants in baltimore that i’ve been to so far.
That night we met up with all my other friends and had an absolute blast. More sangria and we were off. πΒ By the end of the night we ended up at one of the local bars called Ropewalk. This bar is funny bc there are random statues all over the place. Late night there ended up being a few photo ops with the guys. haha. i β€ my friends.
Sunday was spent recuperating and shopping.
For breakfast I was finally able to make oats in a nut butter jar. it’s genious.
I went over to the Towson mall and their local Marshalls and enjoyed my day. I am an extreme bargain shopper and ended up finding a high end Ralph Lauren khaki cropped blazer for $49….. The original price $855. I was in sticker shock. I grabbed that blazer like it was my last meal and ran to the register. I also found my friend who is having a baby a yankee baby bottle. Her hubs is a huge yankee fan and I just couldn’t resist.
My mom made dinner last night and I couldn’t be happier. Beef noodles, haha, I don’t really know how else to describe it, but it has this pickled veggie, lettuce, green onions, along with the beef, noodles and broth. Delicious. My moms best yet of the dish.
Welp, hope you have a wonderful day! stay cool, its HOT out. love you all
