sugar rush

July 29, 2009

i forgot to show you guys this photo from NY. They have a food market there that just opened up called Citarella’s. They have different locations in NYC and just opened 2 up in the Hamptons. I went in and was in foodie heaven, everything fresh, everything amazing. Of course I had to walk by the bakery aisle and check out the goodies. I was eyeing a box of muffins and the owner, Joe Citarella walked up to me. He told me i just HAD to get the cinnamon sugar puff muffin. I told him i’m a big fan of anything cinnamon and sugar, and he brought one to the counter, cut one up and told me i had to try a piece.

wow. this was absolutely amazing. I went with it, and bought it within 2 seconds.

The next morning I had it for breakfast. This thing was massive and delicious and melt in your mouth oh so good. I had to share it with you guys, it would be rude for me to keep it all to myself πŸ™‚

Fight the urge to lick the screen πŸ˜‰

Last night some friends came over for dinner. I had looked up some recipes online to make use of the salmon I had frozen from Costco. I found one on allrecipes.com for Baked Dijon Salmon. With over 1,000 reviews I knew it had to be worth a shot. The salmon was paired with some grilled zucchini and some potato crinkle wedges that I bought at TJs the other day. What a meal. The salmon came out perfectly and was delicious!

My friend Brittany brought over a freshly baked pan of brownies. Nothing better than still warm from the oven brownies. I can promise you that.

I had a brownie today after my lunch with a mug of coffee. Sugar rush? yes, but perfection, even better.

Β

I posted my very first Operation Beautiful note today. I put it in the women’s bathroom at work… it just made me feel good inside. Thats the whole point of this right? To make women feel amazing. I hope it sends out the message!

Hi, I just came across your blog! That cinnamon muffin looks amazing! That’s cool that the owner came up to you. I also live in NYC and go out to the Hamptons… Citarella is a very popular chain (I live up the block from one). I wonder if Joe Citarella is married? πŸ˜‰

I run a vegetarian food blog about what I eat, and my kitten Peanut… I hope you check it out sometime! πŸ™‚

I think I have been making my zucchini wrong.. it keeps making me a little sick lately. Wouldn’t that be weird to only have a food issue with zucchini? πŸ™‚

  30. July 31, 2009 9:23 pm

OMG, that muffin looks amazing! I too don’t typically like things that are cinnamon-sugary, but I do make exceptions. I would totally make one for this! And…I am supposed to be going to NYC next month, so I may seriously have to look for this place! πŸ™‚
