Hi sweet things 🙂

Hope your tuesday is going well! It’s actually a complete 180 over here compared to yesterdays nasty rain. its gorgeous and sunny today!

I wanted to thank you all SO much for your kind words regarding my race! you all are too sweet and seriously make my day! xoxo

So I have lots of eats to update you on!! oh my … where to start.

Well Foodbuzz was kind enough to send me over some Buitoni Wild Mushroom Agnolotti to sample to I had them for dinner on Sunday night. These raviolis were absolutely delicious!!! They were stuffed with tons and tons of mushrooms, and luckily i’m a huge mushroom fan so these completely hit the spot! After I ate it though i realized there was cheese in the filling. Little mistake, but in the big picture no big deal because sticking dairy free has been good otherwise. On the back of the package it says that they are so flavorful all you really need to do is put a little olive oil on them and you’re good to  go. Thats exactly what I did, and added a little salt and this was a mighty tasty meal. Thank you Foodbuzz!

Lets see, yesterday morning started off with a BRIGHT green smoothie. I got some more kale over the weekend 🙂 woohoo! I think this week i’m going to try and have one a day because they make me feel amazing and surprisingly keep me really full. This one I used some raw Maranatha almond butter (restockedd oh yeah) and it was delish.

For lunch I had Eating Bender’s humbecue salmon salad. I used half a can of salmon and added in some hummus and bbq sauce. I loved this combo, I had yet to try it with the salmon I’d only used the sauce mix in sandwiches as a spread. Tasty! My mom gave me a package of oyster mushrooms over the weekend so I wanted to use some up. I sauteed 2 big ones in some olive oil with some garlic and had them on the side.

I’ve been lucky enough to receive some awesome packages in the mail lately! Emily from Emilys Desserts and Dan from Tierra Farms sent me some amazingggg goodies!

Emily’s desserts is a Baltimore based vegan company. I couldn’t believe it when I saw all the goods she sent!

Baked cinnamon sugar donuts

cin-sug-donut

baked glazed donuts

glazed

baked chocolate dipped donuts

choc-dipped

Drooling yet??? 🙂

She also sent me a ton of her cookies!

Double Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Coconut Cranberry, Oatmeal Chocolate Chip, and Oatmeal Cherry Chocolate Pecan.

Here’s the goods I’ve tried so far. I tried each of the donuts 🙂 My sister tried the baked cinnamon sugar and said it was the most moist and delicious donut she’s ever had. Pretty good review i’d say! My dad thought the cinnamon sugar was too sweet for him personally but enjoyed the baked glazed and chocolate dipped one. now me? I loved them all! They were cute and small and the perfect size for a treat. I warmed mine up in the microwave for about 10 seconds and it melted them the perfect amount.

I split an Oatmeal chocolate chip with my sister and that also was so good and moist. I LOVE vegan baked goods! My roomie had the double chocolate last night and loved it as well! Not too sweet, and the perfect amount of chocolate chunks. I will definitely update you as I try more of the cookies. The cranberry coconut one is calling my nameeeee.

What I love about Emilys desserts is that it’s a local company 🙂 All of her goodies are certified vegan! You can purchase all of her tasty treats online or if you are a local you can purchase them at Roots Market, Whole Foods, or Wegmans. If you are vegan or not, these will NOT disappoint and you will be hooked on her tasty baked goods!

Tierra farms is a 100% organid dried fruits and nut company. They offer everything your heart desires. They are a small, privately-owned, certified organic producer and roasting company in upstate New York. When Dan asked me which products I was interested in trying I picked out around 3 or 4 products on their website that I’d never tried before. Now when I got their box my jaw dropped when I saw 12… yes thats right, 12 containers of their products!

They sent over organic date coconut rolls, organic roasted salted pisachio meat, organic maple glazed mixed nuts, organic roasted tamari almonds, organic raw california mix, organic roasted curry cashews, organic tierra trail mix, organic chocolate cranberry cashew mix, organic roasted salted cashews, organic dried cranberries, organic raw walnuts, and organic dried mango.

Oh you only see 11 containers? well…. the organic dried mango didn’t last long, so that one was gone! I’ve never tried dried mango without all the added sugars, the only ingredient in this was organic dried mango. I LOVED it! It was so delicious, and completely addicting! Since the mangoes weren’t covered in sugar, they had a tart taste that I absolutely loved. I tried the chocolate cranberry cashew mix and that was also awesome. I loved the salty sweet combo. I gave some of each to my parents to try and they really love everything. They said everything is so fresh and really high quality. My dad loves trailmixes, and my mom is a huge nut fan so this was perfect!

The maple glazed nuts were absolutely delicious. It was a mixture of cashews, almonds, hazelnuts, pecans and walnuts. Couldn’t ask for a better combo! Thanks so much Dan for sending these to me! This is an amazing company that strives on the high quality of their products, I will definitely be back.. i think mangoes are #1 on my list to get from them!

The date rolls were good! I’ve been dying to try these so I was so happy they sent them! Extremely sweet, but thats what dates are! The ingredients are organic dates (halawi, dayri, zahidi, medjool) and organic macaroon coconut. i love the short ingredient list! Did you all know they had all these different types of dates? I only knew about the medjool ones.

I also have been wanting to make more homemade larabars, so these amazing nuts and dried fruit will be a great way to get that started! In some of the mixes there are figs which i’ve never tried before, prunes, also never tried! So I have LOTS to taste! I’ll also update you guys when I try more of the products! You can browse through their website to check out all of their products, theres lots more!  You have lots of amazing food reviews coming up!

Onto fitness… I signed up last night for a month of Bikram yoga! YAY! I was a little nervous because i’d taken about a month off and wasn’t sure how my body would handle the heat again. It sure was HOT but it made me feel so refreshed after! I always sleep like an absolute rock and wake up before my alarm feeling light and not groggy at all after bikram. I am so glad that I got another membership. The bikram studio in baltimore is offering your first unlimited month with them for $33. Thats over $100 off! Amazing deal, and i’m definitely going to try and get my moneys worth! I’m goign to go as much as possible and can’t wait. I’ve lost some of the flexibility that I gained when I was going consistenly, so i’m excited to gain that back.

I hope you all have a wonderful dayyy ❤

Ashley–I’ll be moving to Mt. Washington in July, right off of Falls Rd! So sounds like it’s close. There’s another yoga place near there too but I’m super intrigued by Bikram. Is the $33 for your first month or any month? Thanks again for the heads up!

(oh and my blog–invincible summer–is sitting until I can fully devote my time to it—thanks again for the help!)

  23. April 21, 2009 6:23 pm

wow, those are some great things you got in the mail! i’m actually surprised that i’m most jealous of the dried fruits and nuts- they sound so fresh and yummy!

  24. April 21, 2009 7:06 pm

I’ve never seen that ravioli before, and of course now I want ravioli for dinner. Whenever I make store bought ravioli I normally just sprinkle some olive oil and parmeasan on top.

Of those doughnuts I think the cinnamon sugar donuts would be my favorite.

  25. April 21, 2009 8:22 pm

TOTALLY drooling over those donuts! Yum! That ravioli also looks really good, and especially cause it’s shroomy flavored…mushrooms are so good in anything. Love em 🙂

I’m so jealous of all the fruit & nut goodies, and what an awesome idea for homemade Lara’s!

Have a great night, enjoy all your goodies! You definitely deserve it after that 10k 😉

    Love, Meg!

Look at all those awesome samples! I love all the containers of the dried fruits & nuts & snacks. Jealous!

  30. April 22, 2009 1:21 pm

Ooo Oooo enter me! I looooveeee oatmeal cooked with fat free milk, vanilla extract, 1/2 scoop protein powder and topped with some natty peanut butter or fresh berries! It sticks with me so much longer than plain cereal :o)

  31. April 22, 2009 1:42 pm

    Wow, what awesome samples!

The donuts look so good! Glad you liked them!

And I loved dried mango, but I think the ones that I’ve eaten have had added sugar, so the no-sugar-added dried mango sounds awesome!

I have to explain my favorite sweet and then savory oatmeal. My fav sweet is a microwaved cut up apple on top with a sprinkle of walnuts or granola, with a little sugar and lots of cinnamon. My fav savory way is egg white with a little melted cheese. Yummy!
