muscle scream!

Gooooood Morning Bloggies! Happy St Patty’s Day!

Hope your Monday went smoothly, mine was pretty good. I was exhausteedddd the night before so I woke up kinda late. I brought 2 organic oats and flax instant oatmeal packets to work and a packet of Barney Butter to work for an impromptu breakfast.  I had a peach chobani and threw in a few almonds for my snack.

Lunchtime I decided to go on a run outsideee! I ran to my new house and back. This was a nice 3 mile run and i loved it! I probably won’t be living in the house until next week, once i get everything together. But what a perfect little run!

When I came back I had my leftover sweet potato and chickpea curry. I think curries and chillis always taste better the next day when all of the flavors have melded together.

Since i’ll be in NY this weekend I had to do a makeup class for my yoga 1 class that I usually go to Sat mornings with my mom. We went last night and had a great class.  Before yoga I had a luna sunrise bar in the strawberry crumble flavor. I really liked the jelly type topping and it wasn’t too sweet, just perfect for a pre yoga snack! I’ll be running the 4 mile race on Saturday by myself, and I hope I do well!  My goal for this race is to finish strong and proud! I have done 2 5k’s before, so this will be my furthest race 🙂 And then the 10k in April!

After yoga I wanted a nice and simple dinner. I threw 2 eggwhites together, whipped them up and put them in the microwave for 1:30. Heated up a morningstar sausage patty (i am really loving these, this is the first box i’ve ever bought and tried) and had a laughing cow wedge on the side with some Franks Red hot. This was exactly what I was craving and it was delicious 🙂 This was my first time microwaving my eggs, i’ve seen it around the blog world lately, and it was so quick and easy! the egg whites were so fluffly and made it more fun to eat!

Then I saw my Core Fusion Dvd on the table!! I just knew I had to test it out right away. I threw it in the dvd player and off I went. All you need is a pair of dumbells, a chair for balance,  and a mat, or if you have carpet the mat isn’t really necessary. The video was split up into five 10 minute sections. Arms, thighs, glutes, abs, stretch.

Let me be completly honest when I am telling you this is by far the hardest video i’ve ever done. I had to stop multiple times to give my muscles a break. They were burning the ENTIRE time! What was nice though that they were burning for a solid 10 minutes and then you’d move on to a new body part so the other one can rest. In workout videos I usually can stick with the person doing the advanced moves but this video I had to stick with the modified. It was such an awesome workout. For the whole video other than the arms you use your body weight for the workout. I had 5 lb weights for the arms, and I noticed the guy in the video I think had 8 lbs and the woman had 2’s. I think I need to get lighter weights because by arms couldn’t handle the 5’s. The dvd also included a free pass to one of their classes. I know they have them in NY so maybe sometime I can go to one  🙂  I definitely reccomend this dvd to anyone wanting to get a great muscle sculpt workout. They also have a pilates workout dvd that I wanted but wanted to try this one out first to make sure I liked their style. They sell the pilates one at the sports store by my work so I am going to pick it up! I give this workout an A+++ for sure! I could feel every single muscle working and screaming at me the whole time, but the workout went by soo incredibly fast since it was broken up into sections.

I called my gym yesterday to cancel my membership, and they said I need to come in and fill out some paperwork. They bill on the 15th so I just missed the cut off date. So I will have my membership until the end of April. Hopefully during lunch I can get all of that paperwork completed.

This morning I had a bowl of oaties with my raw almond butter, coconut, and this time I added in a few raisins.

Tomorrow I have  a half day for a dr appointment, then after am moving some more in, and going to put together the furniture for my room! When everythings together ill take pics for you guys! Have an amazingg day!

Yaaaaaay for Saturday races! I’m sure you will do GREAT and the weather is supposed to be good (in my neck of the woods at least, but I think it will be nice in MD as well)…Get hyped!

Let me know how you like a 4 miler vs. the 5K…my first (and last) 5K KILLED me. Not a fan.

    HAPPY ST. PAT’S DAY!

I think curries and chillis always taste better the next day when all of the flavors have melded together. – Agreed!

Oh my gosh, I want that woman’s butt on the cover of your DVD! Wow. That workout sounds right up my alley as I’m doing a lot more strength training these days, and I love workouts where I use my own body weight. Might have to find that one on Amazon very soon. Thanks for the review!

That is so funny you went to cancel your gym membership. I did the same thing yesterday, but they offered me a free month to try and get me to stay. My one complaint was the COLD yoga room. Who wants to shiver while lying in Savasana? They told me they were working on the problem, and so I’m giving them another chance. We’ll see, but I’m still set on just joining a yoga studio instead and doing strength workouts at home.

    Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

The DVD workout sounds awesome and something that would be great especially in the winter or summer when it’s too cold or hot to go outside.

Hope the transition to the new house goes smoothly!

And thanks for the shout-out about my contest! 🙂

  28. March 17, 2009 7:57 pm

Grrr I hate when gyms make you come in to cancel! It is so irritating, isn’t it?

Lovely morning oats! I have coconut on the shopping list for mine, too!

Oh, and a tip for your microwaved eggs…I’ve been doing this for a while, and love it! I actually put a few egg whites in a cup, and just stick the Laughing Cow wedge right in there…and microwave it together! that way, you get a cheesey omelette right there 🙂 Try it out!!

  30. March 17, 2009 8:55 pm

    Nice run!

oh my goodness, I totally relate to the dvd workout and I can’t believe how amazing that girl’s butt looks!

I really want that dvd now but I just got The Shred…. What do you think of it in comparison to the shred?

  31. March 17, 2009 8:58 pm

Oh wow, that sounds awesome! And I love your eats!

  32. March 17, 2009 9:36 pm

i’m a copy cat! I totally had a luna sunrise in strawberry crumble!!! I agree that the jam stuff is good, but honestly i think it’s just great as a distraction from some of the bitterness/chemical-ness of the bar itself. mmm i like sugar!

I have a question for you!! What is your favorite type of yoga and how did you develop a specific “love” for it? (I’m asking because I’ve had trouble sticking with different yoga classes!)

    And yay for microwaved eggs!!

  34. March 18, 2009 9:39 am

Check out the Baltimore Running Festival in October! I’m signing up to run the half marathon you should too! 🙂
