rock it

March 4, 2009

Morning, and happy Wednesday!

Yesterday I got my run in!! yayyy! i got in a 30 minute treadmill run during lunch and it felt good. nice getting my legs going and I’m ready to jump into the running train again. Its funny how when you are consistent about running you look forward to it, but then when you slip out a little, thinking about your next run seems daunting. I’m determined to get my runner love back and enjoy it πŸ™‚ especialllyyy happy because this weekend its supposed to be in the 60s, and I love getting outside to run when its gorgeous out.

Yesterday I had one of my all time favorite bars. KIND almond and apricot. I could eat one of these every day and never get sick of it. the flavors are awesome. For lunch I had a buffalo chicken wrap with avocado and spinach. I had a few questions about the buffalo chicken. It’s actually deli sliced chicken with buffalo seasoning on it, and is sooo sooo good. I went to costco this past weekend and they had a Dietz and Watson stand and were sampling different deli meats and cheeses and this was by far the best. It is such good quality too and for a good price! I also forgot that I had bought those Kozy Shack rice puddings and had left them in my work fridge over the weekend. I busted one out and tried my first rice pudding. I loveeeed it. I am definitely having one tonight for dessert warmed up with cinnamon. Lots of people told me that was the way to eat it πŸ™‚

When I got home from work I came home to a couple of awesome packages!! Sweet Vani from FitforFreeΒ sent me the book Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Olive Relin. She said she loved it and I had been wanting to read it for a while now. It’s such a great story, check out the website for info about the amazing journey this man took. I just know i’m going to love it.

Also, I got an amazingggg package from the wonderful Jennifer BarneyΒ at Barney Butter!!! She sent me the cutest blue barney butter shirt. It fits perfectly, and i’m going to rock this shirt out allll the time! she also sent me 3 packets of BB which I will gobble up in no time! I had to show off the goods, so heres a pic! πŸ™‚

I was so excited about my packages I almost forgot I had to go to Bikram. I quickly changed and drove over and had a great class. My muscle in my knee pit, haha, i dont know how else to explain it? is it still considered your hamstring? well anyways, its been reallly reallly right from yoga. When I got home from yoga my mom had this crazy chinese rub in a bottle that she let me use, and it made my muscles feel SO much better! Have any of you heard of Tiger Balm? It’s really good for sore muscles. Well we have that, but my mom said this stuff is way way better. I’ll have to take a look at it tonight and let you guys know what it is. I can’t believe how much better it made me feel, this is some serious stuff here for any of you guys that have muscle soreness.

For dinner I had some tortellini soup with spinach and chicken, watched the biggest loser and then called it a night. Speaking of the biggest loser, i can’t believe its a to be continued episode… ah i need to see next weeks show NOW! πŸ™‚ can’t believe they left us hanging like that, and in the preview for next week they show Sione yelling at Jillian. Oh man.

tortellini-soup

This morning I had a bowl of oats with a big date in it πŸ™‚ of course with my usual BB and flax and agave too. heavennnnnnnnn. I’ve been using soy milk the past couple of days with my oats, and i definitely like the vanilla unsweeted almond milk the best. It gives it the best flavor by far.

Hope you guys have a great day! We’re half way through πŸ˜€

  8. March 4, 2009 10:37 am

You are so cute! You look SO excited about the BB! Haha

I think that muscle is still considered your hamstring. Mine gets REALLY sore when I do a lot of yoga too. I think it’s just from doing so much stretching! I always soak in a hot bath or rub it with A535 heat rub to make it feel better!

  9. March 4, 2009 11:06 am

I love tiger balm, its pretty much a miracle worker. Also love the shirt, I am a little jealous!

I completely understand about having a love for running. I lost my love for it once the chicago winter came and I was forced to run on a treadmill. I’m hoping my passin is revived when I run races and get to go outside πŸ™‚ beignets are amazing! Wayyyyyy better than a donut and so much better than a funnel cake. Hopefully you get to try them soon πŸ˜‰ love ya girl!

Your buffalo chicken sounds so good and easy! I normally make it with chicken breasts, but that would be much quicker for lunches. Yumm – thanks!

Glad you had a good run! I love yoga and all, but sometimes there’s nothing like a good run. πŸ™‚

I just tried Kozy Shack’s Ready Grains cereal. Besides tasting delicious, this multi-grain cereal is all natural! It already comes with lowfat milk and you could eat it cold or hot (but who would want cold oatmeal…) I hear they’re coming out with the no sugar added version – sweetened with Stevia, I believe…

  21. March 4, 2009 12:42 pm

so cool about the barney butter shirt and samples…it is a great picture of you!

  22. March 4, 2009 12:42 pm

Hi you!!! You are way too cute in the BB outfit!! I got a red shirt, but the blue definitely looks AWESOME on you!! πŸ™‚

I heart tiger balm. I only have a tiny little one that I use sparingly, but it cures all my headaches, stuffy noses, and achy muscles. hehehe Asian power right there!!

I tried rice pudding a few months ago, and it’s now one of my must-have snacks…so delicious! Kozy Shak makes snack packs with blueberry/pomegranate flavoring….”sugar free” too.

  26. March 4, 2009 2:13 pm

love all the barney butter goods!

i have to say, kozy shack is amazing any way you eat it, but it sounds especially good if heated up. somehow i never thought of that πŸ™‚

i am watching last night’s biggest loser right now, but like you, i need to find out why sione is yelling at jillian pretty much this instant! they’re two of my favorite parts of the show…

    ugh I can’t go!!!

I’m going to shamrock fest on Saturday 14th, and that means my FOURTEEN miler is scheduled for Sunday the 15th 😦

Oooh that cafe is the best…at least in Brussels Belgium it was! Here in the US its just toooooo expensive for the amount of food served. RIDICULOUS in fact! its in Georgetown right?? ugh I just can’t make it out that day due to my long ass run 😦

shoot. some other time I guess!! ❀ xoxo

Love the soup as well – looks very comforting.

You look great in that tee! And YES I have heard of Tiger Balm – one of my best friends from high school used it all the time!! I will be trying the KIND bars you are the second person I have read that eats them!

  42. March 4, 2009 10:18 pm

    Oooh Barney butter! Cute Tee!

I know what you mean about the running thing. It sucks when motivation goes up and down. Why can’t it just get up and stay up? haha that would be great.

I grew up with Tiger balm. Everyone I know and their mama uses it for every.single. type of ailment. haha

  43. March 4, 2009 10:35 pm
