sore buns

January 26, 2009

ouchh getting up this morning was a feat in itself. my body is aching but especially my buns! I also got whacked in the knee so its nice and black/blue and really sore too. For some reason, i’m thinking that this lunch time group power isn’t in the best interest of my body. I think its craving an hour long lunchtime walk down the harbor and into Barnes and Noble.  I think this walk will help loosen up my tight muscles, and the walk to the Bookstore by the Inner Harbor is beautiful 🙂

This morning oats were surprisingly not on my mind. Waffles to the rescue! The last time I had waffles for breakfast, I just stayed hungry all day, so Heather from HangryPants suggested the Vans brand of waffles and so when I spotted some on sale the other day i grabbed a box. These were the multigrain Vans and are probably the tastiest frozen waffle i’ve ever had! These will permanently be a breakfast option for me from now on 🙂 thanks Heather! I toasted two of these babies up and smeared some almond butter and a little swirl of agave on them. I sliced up 2 kiwis on the side. I have always been such a huge lover of peanut butter, but i’m telling you this Maranatha Raw almond butter has got me hooked! I think i might like it more than pb now??  When I first tried the almond butter, i thought it was allright. Everyone kept telling me though that you will eventually love it, so true!

I had a slice of my VeggieGirl’s amazing pumpkin loaf. Once it’s heated up a little bit it tastes freshy baked again. Delish! and i paired it with a mug of decaf coffee. I put some silk creamer in it, and had a sip and surprisingly I didn’t feel like it needed any sweetener. So no Stevia for me today! Maybe i’ll eventually be able to drink my coffee black 🙂

That kiwi looks delicious! I think my body must be craving fruit that reminds me of warm weather, because seriously – I want to eat your kiwi. Haha. Enjoy your trip to B&N!

I love those Van’s waffles, too! Never tried them with AB but I’m sure it’s yummy. I need to try raw almond butter…I’ve only had roasted. That kiwi is so green!
Your lunchtime plan sounds so nice…have fun at Barnes & Noble, I could spend hours there!

I think I’m gonna have to get on this almond butter train, everyone seems to love it!

I used to put cream and sugar in my coffee too then I just kept putting less and less in and soon I didn’t need any at all. But the only coffee I can drink black is Folgers, if I get Tim Hortons or Starbucks I need too add a little cream!

Hmmmm.. I’m going to have to try those waffles. I don’t usually eat waffles in the morning because they don’t have much staying power for me. But I will HAVE to try these!

You totally should get one! It’s awesome! Such easy clean up! half the battle with a blender is that it’s so big and so much to deal with after you use it.

I think I like almond butter more than pb too!
Have you tried kashi heart to heart waffles? I think they’re the best (although I’ve only tried Van’s flax waffles so maybe the multigrains are better).

Yum!! The waffles, the kiwi and the pumpkin loaf all look so good! I haven’t had kiwi in awhile, I think you may have inspired me to get some.
