Change of plans

So last night didn’t exactly go as planned. I planned on the hour Jackie Warner workout dvd. About 5 minutes into it, I was thinking, this is completely not what I am in the mood for. My body was craving yoga, and not this dvd. I was going to just keep on going with the dvd and just finish it, but i decided to press eject then press play on my yoga download that i found on Jenna’s website recently. It was a 70 minute Power Yoga session and it was amazing. It really had a ton of poses that KILLED my quads though! Anyone who says yoga isn’t a good workout, they need to try this session out! my quads were burning throughout the whole thing, and this morning I woke up still so sore. yoga kicked my booty. I slept like a baby though 🙂

I woke up this morning, and whatya know… decided to have another bowl of oats! are any of you sick of seeing this same bowl? i am really surprised that i’m not! I have never craved oats like this before, and i am loving this sweet and simple combo.  I always felt like the more and more toppings I added to my oatmeal, the better it would taste. So glad I have simplified it to these add-ins and have been loving my bowl every morning since! I’m almost out of my small jar of almond butter…. almost time to restock 🙂


Mid day snack- TA DA! a flax and oats muffin that I made last night! I warmed it up in the microwave for 25 seconds, and slathered some fresh ground pb on half of it. The chocolate chips were perfectly melted and this was the perfect snack. Big shoutout again to Angela for this awesome and simple recipe! these were so quick and easy to make.


Lunch today calls for a 25 minute treadmill run! My schedule is again a little wacky this week because I will be going to New York Wed and be coming back late Thursday night. I’m going to get up early tomorrow and get a workout in, and call Thursday as my rest day instead of Saturday. Can’t wait for a day and a half break! much needed.  Friday I’m going to try hot yoga. any hot yoga fans out there? This is my first time, and i’m a little nervous, but theres a yoga studio by my work that specializes in hot yoga, so i figure if i’m going to take it anywhere i might as well take it there. It’s a community class, so its a $6 drop in fee. sweeeeeet. Looking forward to the friday night class.

    Hi! I just found your blog through Oh She Glows and I will definitely be keeping up with you!

    I LOVE Hot Yoga! I think it’s a great thing to do a few times a month (I could never do it several days in a row). Be sure to wear light clothing and bring extra towels! 🙂 I typically wear a tank with cropped spandex because shorts allowed my legs to become too slippery. hahaha that sounds disgusting, but it feels sooo good when you are finished!

    I’ve never tried Jackie’s work outs…but I am soooo hoping they do another season of the work out!!! I wish we had hot yoga somewhere! It’s a little out there still I think for the people in the midwest:P

    ….so delish…the mom I nanny let me taste some that she brought with her on vacay and I know it would make oats just explode with flavor!

    I haven’t ever tried hot yoga! It sounds super interesting and I can’t wait to hear how your class goes!
