Happy Hump Day!

January 14, 2009

Today started out with another perfect bowl of simple oats. I really enjoyed them yesterday and was craving them when I woke up this morning.  YUM. When I got into work I dug right into my apple, and had a cup of coffee. I recently bought some silk french vanilla creamer, and i love it. Makes the perfect cup of coffee with an added packed of stevia.

Before I hit the gym during lunch I had the other half of my ww cin raisin english muffin last night with some fresh ground pb. heaven 🙂 and the perfect fuel for the GRUELING workout that folllowed.

Group power was a killer today. My arms are feeling a little numb while typing right now. Let me explain how this class is set up. Its broken up into different sections to work on your different body parts individually. Today was back, shoulders, lunges and squats, triceps, and abs. you do each section non-stop, then have about a minute in between the sessions to stretch out and get ready to move onto the next one. Lunges completely kicked my butt today. I thought my quads were going to break off my legs!  When squats were up immediately following the lunges, i was actually relieved!  HA! relieved to be doing squats?? thats how rough the lunges were.this instructor packs a serious workout in 45 minutes. i’m so glad i finally got the courage to try this class!

Lunch was some tuna salad with onions, and celery, with some kashi crackers and cucumber. I had a little clementine too. I used plain yogurt instead of mayo with the tuna. It’s way healthier for you this way, but it doesn’t really taste good to me. It was kinda watery. I missed my mayo. What kind of mayo does everyone use? i’ve only ever gotten the regular Hellmann’s kind, but i’m sure theres got to be some ones out there that are much better for you. any suggestions?

i am SO glad its wednesday! halfway through the work week, which means only 2 days until my bf comes to visit 🙂 He lives in NY. my original plan after college was to move to NYC with my best friend from high school, and then I would only be like 45 minutes away from the boy, but it was so hard to find a job there. It seemed like I needed to get some experience first before I could land a solid job in the city. I got a great offer in Baltimore, and figured I could save up enough money while I get the experience I need to make the move. So we’ve been long distance since graduation in May 😦  we make sure that we see each other every 2 weeks, and so far we have only once gone longer that that. a weekend doesn’t seem like a long enough visit at all, and I always wish the stays were longer.  We also adopted a puppy from the humane society when we were at school and shes with him right now. Her name is Eden.  I’ll be sure to post some pics of her when she comes this weekend too. Ah, shes such a doll.

Awesome giveaway! The lovely Angela at OhSheGlows is having an Honest Foods giveaway! Make sure you go check it out! 🙂

I’m not sure if you have Spectrum products in your area, but they make some interesting & good mayo products: http://www.spectrumorganics.com/?id=57

Good luck getting through the rest of the week – looking forward to the puppy pictures!

My boyfriend and I lived three hours apart my first two years of college. It was horrible!

That class sounds so intense, I’m actually pretty sore from my weight routine yesterday too! I can’t believe you were excited to squats! Lol.

aww – sorry you are away from your BF and pup. I like your coffee cup – where did you get it?

  4. January 14, 2009 3:00 pm

Yes! I’d love to do an exchange – I’m just not sure what I have to offer! 🙂

Do you have a TJ’s near you? I do – so if there’s something from there – I could hook you up, let me know!

oh gosh oats are so addictive! Great way to start off the day right! I love how your cup of coffee looks so coffee-color-like. It doesn’t look too sweet or too strong. I like mine black, but occasionally, I enjoy coffee with cream and sugar (in the form of a caramel macchiato form the bucks) haha does that apply?

btw, this is my first time visiting your site! I noticed you commented on AFCCAV. (Been so busy!) Love the title and can’t wait to read more and find out more about a new blogger! 🙂

that oatmeal is mesmerizing…did you notice the swirl on the spoon lol…omg i know what you mean about cinn toast crunch though ( I need an anonymous group for the stuff)…luckily I found a similar cereal option by Total…so its semi-healthy…

and I can relate to being away from the puppy (not so much the BF since I am single!) Isn’t it awesome to try something new and scary like a new gym class, and love it and have that feeling of accomplishment? Yoga does that for me!

Hey girly 😉 You must try the spaghetti squash! It so good and easy to make!

Eats look good- your oats look super creamy!

Long distance is so hard! I graduated a semester before my now husband did. I moved to Virginia to work and he was in central PA. I feel for you! I hope that you two can be together all the time soon!

Oooh I LOVE workouts like that!! I never get bored!

Sorry to hear about the long distance relationship but kudos to you two for making it work! It’s NOT easy 🙂

Your workout sounds like it kicked your butt! I love those!

Have you tried greek yogurt instead of the mayo? Its thicker than normal yogurt and has a bit of a tang like mayo. I usually just use a little mustard these days for tuna salad.

Thanks for stopping by my blog 🙂
