Look at Jillian giving me that mean look. She’s daring me to do the 30 day shred… and this time, i’m going to do it the whole way through. Here we go :) if you’d like to join me please do!!! The more support the better :)

Day 1 : 5/5/09

I shredded after watching the Biggest Loser. If they can run a marathon, I surely can do 20 minutes of the shred for 30 days in a row right? I’m going to FL in a little over a month so this will be perfect to get me ready to be wearing a swimsuit. I’m going to take my measurements tonight and post them. Hopefully there will be a difference! Excited to keep this going and fully finish out the challenge. I’ve started and stopped this far too many times. This time it’s foreal.

I did day 1 Level 1 with 3 lb weights. I think I can handle bumping up the weights to 5 lbs. I’m going to try that tonight and see how it goes. Day 1 was a success! I’m going to do the 10 days per level and see how I like that.

Day 2 : 5/6/09

Today was day 2 of my shred challenge. My roomie Laur is doing the challenge with me too, so it’l be so good to have someone to do it with! Becca and Amber told me they’d do it with me too, so some bloggie motivation too! I used 5 lbs weights this time and boy could I tell the difference between these and the 3’s I used the day before. It’s a lot harder but I think it’s definitely doable. I want to get as much out of this as possible. I also took measurements last night so at the end of the challenge I will post any measurement changes. I think im going to take pics tonight as well so I can see if there’s any visible changes that I notice between the beginning and end of the challenge. I’m excited about this challenge and hope to keep my enthusiasm up the whole month. woo! When I go home this weekend i’m also going to weigh myself and see if theres any weight change.

Day 3 : 5/7/09

Shredded before going out to dinner. I knew I might not feel like it when I got back so I made SURE to do it before. Sweated up a storm today! Still used the 5lbs. I also took pics! So now at the end of the challenge I can compare and see if there are any visible differences. Still feeling strong and motivated which is good, I just need to focus on keeping it going through the weekend which was always hard for me in the past. Keeping my head on straight and am going to complete this. Still doing the pushups on my knees, but hoping by the end of the 10 days on level 1 i’ll be doing them full out. thats my mini goal for level 1. Feeling great so far, even though its only been 3 days haha.

Day 4 : 5/8/09

Ok so this was a hard day. I was exhausteeddd because I just got home from work and ran 3 miles. I NEEDED a nap if I was going to be able to make it out. I took a 30 minute nap and made sure to set my alarm. As soon as I woke up it was shred time. This was rough. I was so sleepy and all I wanted to do was go back to bed. But you know what? I finished it. I completed the 20 minute workout and then took a shower and got myself together. There’s not a better feeling than accomplishing something you completely didn’t want to do but knew you should. I was so happy I did it and just didn’t decide, hey i’ll skip it no biggie. I finished, and finished proud!

Day 5 : 5/9/09

I didn’t get to shred till about 10 PM, but I did it! I was at my parents house so it was a little harder because Hershey kept wanting to play while I was working out. She gets so excited when people move around quickly. haha. I did notice though that I was starting to feel stronger, and pushups are feeling so much better. Maybe soon on my actual toes not my knees! woo!

Day 6 : 5/10/09

It was late night shred yet again. This time about 11 PM, I contemplated maybe just doing it in the morning then again later tomorrow, but figured NO gotta do it tonight. I finished it, and am almost done 1 full week! I love the feeling I get when I finish the dvd, I’m excited to finish out level 1 strong and go into level two in a few days. Makes me wonder though… what will I do when its over? but i’m thinking way ahead of myself, I haven’t even done day 7! haha.

Day 7 : 5/11/09

Going strong! Offically completed one full week and i’m feeling great. It’s making my legs tired during runs but i’m hoping they’ll adjust and get stronger! 3 more days of level 1 then its dreaded level 2. I’ve got this!

Day 8 : 5/12/09

Did the shred in between the 3 hours of the biggest loser finale! Me and my two roommates shredded in the living room and busted it out! I’ve been happy with the 5 lb weights i’ve been using. It’s challenging but I want to push myself! Tomorrow i’m goign to try and do the pushups on my toes not my knees anymore. It’s time to step it up!!

    Woo hoo!!! Jillian’s scary – but you can take her! Good luck with the challenge. I’m sure you will see/feel some changes over the next 30 days. I’m looking forward to reading about it!

    Hey that’s a really good idea to do 10 days on each level!! I did level 1 yesterday morning and level 2 this morning, I was going to do level 1,2,3 but I think I like your idea better. I will start doing level 1 for 9 days after today!! I love this update that you have, it will be extra motivation for me!!

    Good luck with the Shred. I have done it twice through now and definitely had more muscle definition than ever before.

    It’s day 5 for me now, I have put it off ALL day and now am going to go do it while supper is cooking!! I read this for inspiration to get er done!!!!

    I’ve been doing about half the pushups on my toes and half on my knees! I want to be able to do them ALL from my toes by the end!!

    I am on Day 8 – Level 2 of the 30 Day Shred. I can totally see the difference in my arms. They look more defined. I feel stronger too. Jillian is tough, but good. If I was on the Biggest Loser, I would want Jillian to train me!
